RLCS2024のMajor1から編成、見事に勝ち抜きコペンハーゲンで行われるLAN大会に出場するELEVATEにインタビューしてきました！

Tynobad(interviewer): First of all, from Firia and everybody at RL Japan, huge congratulations on winning the first RLCS event of the 2024 season!
まず、RLCS2024-25シーズンMajor1Qualifier1優勝おめでとうございます！

Kevin: Thank you, man!

Sphinx: Yes. That’s us!

Tynobad: Could you please introduce yourselves to the readers? Please tell us about who you are, what you do and so on.
まずは自己紹介をお願いします。

Kevin: You first, Louis.
LCT最初で。

LCT: Noooo, can someone else do it first, please?
いやいやいや、誰かほかの人やって…。

Kevin: Aiman, you are the guy that won us the RLCS Event. You scored us the last goal, so…
じゃあSphinxが最後点数決めて優勝したからSphinxやって。

LCT: Yeah, exactly!
確かに。

Sphinx: Ok. I go to school… 
OK、自分は学校に通っていて…

*silence*

Louis, Kevin, Tyno: Ok, yup.

Kevin: GO!

Sphinx: Wait, what else? What else?
ちょっとまって他何を言えばいい？

Kevin: How about your name, your age, where you are from?
名前とか、年齢とか、どこ出身なのか。

Sphinx: Ok, uhhhm, my name is Aiman, also known as Sphinx. I am a player for Elevate, I attend school and I play Rocket League as a hobby. Well, not anymore. Like, yay! I am 15 years old and live in Malaysia.
OK！自分はSphinx、本名Aimanです。Elevateに所属していて、ロケットリーグは趣味でやっています。でも今シーズンからは仕事になるね！15歳で、マレーシアに住んでます。

LCT: So, my name is Louis, otherwise known as LCT, and uhhhm… yeah.
自分はLCT、本名Louisです。で…うん。

Everybody: 笑笑

LCT: Oh, I’ve won 11 RLCS Regionals and have been to a couple LANs. I think it’s 4 or 5 LANs, I don’t know.
あ、11回RLCSのRegional Championになって何回かLANに出場しました。たぶん4,5回くらいだけど覚えてないな。

Sphinx: and your hobby is buying Lizards.
そして趣味はトカゲを買うこと、と。

LCT: YUP! I like Lizards. Yup. Oh, by the way, I am from Indonesia! Okay, so, as some might know, I have been living in Singapore for a while and I’ve just recently moved to Indonesia about 6 months ago. This means that this is my first RLCS season in Indonesia. My entire career I’ve been playing in the RLCS from Singapore, but now I’m in Indonesia.
そう！トカゲ大好き！そして、インドネシア出身です。知ってる人もいるかもしれないけど、実は暫くシンガポールに住んでたんだけど、半年前にインドネシアに引っ越しました。だからインドネシアから出場するのは今回のRLCSが初めて。今まではシンガポールから出てたから。

Kevin: Oh, I guess it’s my turn now. Ok, well, uhhm, hello. My name is Kevin, otherwise known as Kevin… Wait, can I go again?
わあ、次は自分の番か。OK、こんにちは。自分はKevinです。プレイヤーネームもKevinで…ちょっとまってもう一回やってもいい？（笑）

Tynobad: That was perfect! That was perfect!
いい感じだよ。

Kevin: I’m Kevin, half-Thai, half-French and I am… I can’t believe I just forgot my age… Oh, I’m 19! Yup.
自分はKevinです、タイとフランスのハーフで…年齢忘れた…あ！19歳です！

Q1: What is your favorite Rocket League Car?─好きなロケットリーグの車体は？

Kevin: Octane!
オクタン！

LCT: My favorite car is Fennec! It used to be Dominus, but I’ve changed. Ever since RLCS 2021 I’ve changed to Fennec.
自分はフェネックかな！以前はドミナス使ってたけど変えた。RLCS2021-22シーズンからフェネックにした。

Sphinx: I use all three cars. Octane, Fennec and Dominus.
I used to be a Dominus main, but then I became an Octane main, then I became a Fennec main, then went back to Dominus, then went back to Fennec, then went back to Octane, then went back to…
自分はオクタンもフェネックもドミナスも全部使ってるな。前はドミナスをメインで使ってたけど、でもオクタンをメインで使うようになって、それでフェネックを使うようになったけどドミナスに戻ってフェネックに戻ってオクタンに戻って…

Kevin *interrupting Sphinx*: Yeah, I use Fennec and Octane, but I feel like Fennec is always a reliable car to fall back on.
(遮って)自分はフェネックとオクタンを使ってるけどフェネックのがいつも調子いいかな。

Q2: Why did you start Rocket League and when?─ロケットリーグを始めたきっかけは？

Kevin: It’s pretty simple. Rocket League was free to play on PlayStation and I wanted to play Rumble with my friends and Boom! I copped the game and I was a Rumble main for like two years.Did you watch “the Sidemen”?  I watched them play Rocket League a lot and then the game became free.
とってもシンプルで、ロケットリーグがプレイステーションで無料だったから友達とランブルをプレイしたくて始めたよ。2年くらいはランブルをメインにプレイしてたかな。「the Sidemen」ってYoutuber観たことある？自分は彼らがロケットリーグを沢山やってるのを観てたらちょうど無料化したから始めたんだ。

Sphinx: I started playing when I was 7 years old.
僕は7歳のときから始めた。

LCT: Yup, Sphinx is a baby.
ね、赤ちゃんだよ。

Sphinx: I watched Kronovi and the game of iBuyPower vs. FlipSid3 Tactics and I have wanted to play the game ever since then.
My hands were so small, they couldn’t fit around the controller. That’s how small I was.
Kronoviをずっと観ていて、iBuyPower vs. FlipSid3 Tacticsの試合を観て以来ずっとロケットリーグをやりたいと思ってたんだ。ただ手が小さくてコントローラーが握れなかった。それぐらい幼かったんだよね。

LCT: So I started in 2016 and the reason I started Rocket League was because my cousin told me to play the game and I thought: alright. I was really bad at first, but it was pretty fun. I still ended up quitting Rocket League, because I don’t like playing games that I suck at. After about a 1 year long break and after becoming tired of playing too much CS:GO I got back into Rocket League and I started playing again.
ロケットリーグを始めたきっかけは従兄弟に勧められたから。最初は本当に下手だったんだけど楽しかったよ。でも苦手なゲームはやりたくなかったから結局辞めちゃって、1年位休んでCS:GOのやりすぎで息抜きとしてまたロケットリーグを始めたんだ。

Tynobad: Did all of you start on PC or on other platforms?
全員PCから始めたの？それとも他のプラットフォーム？

Kevin: Me and Aiman started on the PS4.
自分とSphinxはPS4から。

LCT: I started on PC.
自分はPCから。

Sphinx: Oh my god, this guy is so privileged…
Actually, because my hands were so small I never played on Xbox. The Xbox controllers were way too big for my hands.
なんてこった、こいつは特権階級だな...。実はXboxコントローラーが僕には大きかったからXboxではプレイしたことないんだよね。

Q3: Why did you keep playing Rocket League up until now? What is your motivation? What keeps you interested in the game?─ロケットリーグを続けている理由は？モチベーションを上げる方法は？

Kevin: I have answered this question on the official APAC broadcast, but then I got banned from doing interviews… So I have to give a family friendly answer on this one.
この質問、実はRLCSの公式配信でも聞かれたことがあるんだけど、そのあとインタビュー出禁になったんだよね…だからちょっとこれに関しては配慮した答えをしなきゃいけないね…。

Tynobad: Wait, is that really the reason why you keep playing the game itself? Not just RLCS?
待って、それって本当だったの？RLCSだからウケを狙ったんじゃなく？

Kevin: Oh, no. Well, the reason why I keep playing Rocket League is that it is addicting. I don’t know how to explain it. Even after your worst days you can’t help but go back to playing Rocket League.K: It’s not like I enjoy every moment playing the game, but I always manage to come back and play the game. Even when I don’t feel like it. I just hop on the game for fun.
うーん、僕がロケットリーグをやり続けている理由は、中毒性があるからなんだ。どう説明したらいいかわからない。最悪でも、またロケットリーグをプレイせずにはいられない。全部が楽しい訳じゃないけど、結局戻ってきてゲームしちゃうんだよね。気が乗らなくても。楽しみたくてプレイしてるかな。

Sphinx: I have a very simple reason for playing Rocket League. I wanted to go pro in two games. Valorant and Overwatch. Then I looked at the minimum age and it was like 21 years, so I thought: No, I am not going pro. These games are gonna die before I can go pro.
ロケットリーグをプレイする理由は単純で、元々オーバーウォッチとVALORANTのプロになりたかったんだけど、プロの年齢の下限が21歳とかだったからプロにはなれないと思ったんだ。自分がプロになる前にコンテンツが終わってしまうと思ったから。

Kevin: Well, Overwatch is already dead.
まぁ、オーバーウォッチは終わってしまったもんね。

Sphinx: Yeah, and in Rocket League the age minimum is like 15, so that’s doable. I can wait two more years. That’s what I thought to myself. And then, boom, they changed it to 13. Great…
そう、でもロケットリーグは15歳から参加できるでしょ？ならできると思ったんだ。2年なら待てる、そう思ってたら大会参加可能年齢が13歳に下げられたんだよね。びっくり。

LCT: Was the question why I kept playing for all those years?
なんでロケットリーグを続けているか、だっけ？

Kevin: MONEY!
お金だよな！

LCT: Alright, yeah, money. Just kidding.
そうだね。…まあ冗談だけど（笑）

Everyone: 笑笑

LCT: The reason why I kept playing was that I don’t enjoy other games as much as I enjoy Rocket League. As Kevin said, every time I play Rocket League and have a bad day I switch to another game. But that other game is only fun for a couple of hours and then I always return to Rocket League.
僕がプレイし続けた理由は、ロケットリーグほど他のゲームを楽しめないから。Kevinが言ったように、ロケットリーグをプレイして嫌なことがあるたびに、他のゲームに切り替えるんだ。でも、その他のゲームが楽しいのは2、3時間だけで、その後はいつもロケットリーグに戻るんだ。

Q4: Who is your favorite player? Who is a player you are looking up to?─お気に入りのプレイヤーは？

Tynobad: Who are players you are looking up to? Who do you see as your role-model?
尊敬する選手は誰ですか？また、立ち回りの参考にしている人は誰ですか？

Kevin: It used to be M0nkeyM00n for a while. Now I don’t really look up to anyone. Oh, but I used to watch a lot of SquishyMuffinz before. His 2v2 videos were fantastic! SSL 2v2! He taught me so much about the game.
しばらくはM0nkeyM00nだったけど、今は特にないかな。あ、でも以前はSquishyMuffinzをよく見ていたよ。彼の2vs2のビデオが最高なんだ！SSLの2v2！彼はたくさんのことを教えてくれたね。

Sphinx: I used to watch Kronovi every day. I used to watch his videos with iBuyPower all the time.
I actually knew how to fly in Rocket League before ever touching the game. I used to watch a lot of JZR videos and I saw him fly his car in Rocket League. I had no way to play the game, so I looked up how to fly, watched a video and when I finally owned Rocket League, flying was the first thing I did. My little baby hands were on my cousin's PS4, flying a car in Rocket League.
Kronoviは毎日見ていたよ。iBuyPowerのビデオをいつも見てた。あと、実はゲームを触る前から飛び方を知っていたんだ。JZRのビデオをよく見ていて、彼がロケットリーグで車を飛ばしているのを見たんだ。僕はゲームをプレイする方法がなかったから、飛ばし方を調べ、ビデオを見て、ついにロケットリーグが出来るようになったとき、真っ先に車で飛んだんだ。僕の小さい手は、いとこのPS4で車を飛ばしていたよ。

LCT: That’s crazy.
すごいな。

Kevin: I used to watch a lot of JZR as well!
自分もJZRはよく見てた！

LCT: OH YEAH! The one I used to watch was JZR! I loved JZR and Pulse MK so much.
俺もよく見てたよ！JZRとPulse MKが大好きだった。

Q5: What is the origin of your nickname?─名前の由来は？

Tynobad: This is a question that is probably gonna be very boring for two of you guys: How did you come up with your nickname?
2人にはつまらない質問だけど……ニックネームの由来は？

Kevin, LCT: 笑笑

Tynobad: Kevin, would you like to explain the origin of your nickname? I just can’t figure out where your nickname comes from…
Kevin、君のニックネームの由来を説明してくれないか？君のニックネームの由来がどうしてもわからなくてね...…（笑）

Kevin: Mine is probably the most creative, because it came from a really… Well, it’s been a long time already since I came up with this name. That is because my parents gave it to me when I was born.
僕のは、多分最も独創的な名前だと思う。僕が生まれたときに両親がつけてくれたからね！

LCT: My exciting story is, uhhm, so, uhhm, my name “LCT” is my initials (Louis Christian Thamrun). Yup.
僕は......そう、僕の名前の "LCT "はイニシャル（Louis Christian Thamrun）なんだ。うん。

Tynobad: Amazing. What about you, Sphinx?
いいね。Sphinxは？

Sphinx: So my first ever in-game name…  My cousin’s name on PS4 was “Power Holder”, and I wanted to copy him. So I named myself “PowerLegend14” on my PS4.
従兄弟のPS4での名前が "Power Holder"だったから、真似してみたかったんだ。それで、PS4で自分の名前を "PowerLegend14 "にした。

Kevin: POWER LEGEND!

Sphinx: 笑笑. When I moved to PC, people called that name cringe, which I understand now, so I renamed myself to “Mooing2Fast”. When I was around 6 or 5 years old, I used to play a Minecraft mini-game called “Cops and Criminals”, in which I was in the top 10 players of the world. There was this person called “Moving2Fast”, who was really good and my friend, so I called myself that.Then one day I wanted another name, so I asked one of my friends and he just said: “Sphinx”!
（笑）PCに引っ越したらみんなが僕の名前が変だと言うんだよ。まぁ今では僕もそう思うんだけど……だからMooing2Fastに改名した。僕が6歳か5歳くらいの頃、「Cops and Criminals」というマインクラフトのミニゲームをよくやっていて、そこで僕は世界のトップ10に入っていたんだ。そこに”Moving2Fast"という人がいて、その人がすごく上手で友達だったので、そう名乗ってた。それで、ある日名前を変えたくなって、友人につけてもらったのが「Sphinx」！

Q6: Do you have a pre-tournament routine?─トーナメント前のルーティンはありますか？

Tynobad: Do any of you have any pre-tournament routine that you do before every competitive tournament?
大会前にするルーティンはなにかある？

Kevin: Yes.
ああ。

*silence*

Tynobad: Would you like to elaborate? 笑
説明を貰ってもいいかな？（笑）

Kevin: I always eat the same food and I have the same drink every single time. I Thai we call it “ถ้ายัดไส้” (“Kai yad sai” - stuffed omelette). It has ground beef, tomato sauce, carrots and some other stuff. The omelette is wrapped around it and you can eat it with rice. It is so delicious.
I also always have the same banana milkshake. My mom makes it for me.
 いつも同じものを食べ、同じ飲み物を飲んでる。タイでは "ถ้ายัดไส้（カイヤッサイ）"（=具だくさんオムレツ）と呼ぶんだ。ひき肉、トマトソース、ニンジンなどが入っていて、それをご飯と一緒に食べる。とてもおいしい。
あと、いつも同じバナナミルクセーキを飲む。母が作ってくれるやつ。

Tynobad: That sounds great!
いいねえ！

Kevin: I always eat that and, OH! I never shower before RLCS! I can’t do that… But if we make it to the LAN I will take a shower before RLCS!
いつもそれを食べて、あ！RLCS前にシャワーは浴びないようにしてる！でもLANに行けたらシャワー浴びるかな。

LCT: Please do that! If we are sharing a room and you don’t take a shower, I will kick you out.
ぜひそうしてくれ。同室なのにシャワー浴びなかったら蹴り飛ばすからね。

Kevin: Yeah I will take showers, but here at home it’s fine. This is my house, so it’s all good. But if it’s a LAN I will shower. Ok, I mean, if I play at home I don’t have to travel, so I don’t really have to take a shower before RLCS. I can just shower right after.
もちろん浴びるよ。でも家では浴びなくていいんだ。家でプレーすれば移動がないから、RLCSの前にシャワーを浴びる必要はないからね。

Tynobad: What about the others?
他のメンバーはどう？

LCT: Ok, so my routine is to… Ok, so if my hands are not grippy I wash them…And then I wash my hands until they feel grippy.
うーんそうだな…あ、マウスが上手く握れないときは手を洗うかな。上手く握れるようになるまで手を洗う。

Kevin: That’s fair enough. Louis has done exactly that during the last RLCS event.
なるほどね。LCTはこの前のRLCSでもやってたよね。

LCT: Yeah, in the Grand Finals I washed my hands twice! 笑笑
Like, “Wait guys, I’m washing my hands real quick!”
そう、決勝では二回洗ったよ（笑）　「なるはやで手洗ってくるから待って！」って（笑）

Everybody: 笑笑

Kevin: Ok, so what goes through your head when you go to wash your hands?
手を洗ってるときは何を考えてるの？

LCT: Like, “Why are my hands not grippy?”
んー、「なんで手が滑るんだ…？」って感じかな。

Kevin: Wait, you don’t think about the game at all? If I were you I would ask myself: “Am I rotating wrong? Is that why I am losing?”
待って、試合のこと何も考えてないの？俺なら「ローテーションが間違ってたのかな？だから負けるのか？」って自分自身に問いかけるよ。

Everybody: 笑笑

LCT: No. But my right hand needs to be grippy, because it is for my mouse. My left hand doesn’t need to be grippy. Do you know the feeling of after lifting weights in the gym and your hands become really, really grippy?
いや、でも右手はちゃんとマウスを握らなきゃいけないから。左手は（キーボード操作だから）握る必要はないんだけど。ジムでウェイトリフティングをした後、手が本当に、本当にグリップが効かなくなる感覚を知っているかい？

Kevin: Yeah.
ああ。

LCT: Yeah, it’s something like that.
I should probably have a piece of rubber or chalk, like the white powder, and I think I should chalk up my hands before every game. I kid you not, I would be a god if I did that.
ああ、そんな感じなんだよ。白い粉みたいなゴムかチョークを持って、毎試合前に手をチョークで磨くべきだと思う。冗談じゃないよ！そんなことしたら神になれるけど。

Sphinx: Dude… Nah, nah, nah. The chalk would get all over your keyboard.
いや、いや、いや。チョークでキーボードが汚れてしまう。

LCT: Yeah. The keyboard would break. That’s why I need a sponsor! Guys! Sponsor me! Okay?
そう、キーボードが壊れるんだよ。だからスポンサーが必要なの！支援をしてくれ！

Everyone: 笑笑

Tynobad: Aiman, what about you? Do you have a routine before tournaments?
Sphinx、君は何かある？大会前は何してる？

Sphinx: Uhm, no. I just make sure to get about 8 hours of sleep before RLCS and I should be fine.
んー、特に無いかな。RLCSの前に8時間くらい睡眠をとるようにすれば大丈夫。

Kevin: That’s a great idea. I had around 6 hours of sleep last time.
いいアイデアだね。僕はこの前6時間しか寝てなかった。

Sphinx: Yeah. If I have a tournament at 17:00, I wake up at like 12:00 or 11:00. And then I should be fine. I don’t have any placebo.
うん。例えば17時に大会があるとしたら、12時か11時ごろに起きるんだ。そうすれば問題ない。ルーティンのプラセボはないかな。
