Q16: Why should fans (especially Japanese fans) support Elevate?─ELEVATEの応援すべき点は？

Tynobad: I feel like this is a very important question: Why should fans and especially Japanese fans support Elevate?
ファン、特に日本の人たちがElevateを応援すべき理由はここだよ、っていうの、ある？

Kevin: We just won the Regional, mate!
Regionalで俺たち優勝してるよ！

LCT: We’re a fully Asian team!
3人ともアジア勢だよ！

Kevin: We are fully Asian and we are APAC’s last hope. Honestly. We are pretty much the only full Asian team that can compete with Gladiators. Maybe Chapati Dream is able to do that as well, but I think we are more consistent and better than Chapati. If both us and Chapati are at their peak performance, we’re a lot better than them I think.
俺たち3人ともアジア勢で、APACの最後の希望だよ、正直なところ。
Gladiatorと戦えるアジア勢は俺たちしかいないんだ。
ChapatiDreamもいいとこ行けるかもしれないけど、俺たちのほうが安定して強いと思ってる。お互いフルのポテンシャルを発揮できたとしたら、俺たちのほうが上だね。

Kevin: That is true! We are probably the most energetic team! Globally!

Kevin: Ok, so seriously, we are fighting for all APAC players and want to prove that we do not need players from outside of Asia to compete with the world, so please support us!

Q17: How did your team come together?─どうして今のチームになったの？

Tynobad: Next up, I would like to know how your team was formed. Could you tell me about how and when you decided to form a team?
次に、チームがどうやって結成されたのか聞きたい。いつ、どうやってこのチームを組もうと思ったのか聞かせてもらえるかな。

Kevin: Honestly, I have a bad memory, but for some reason, I was the guy who formed the team somehow. I think it was me, ballerrees, and LCT. We were trying out together. Our team was almost confirmed and then Louis went to the World Championship. When he came back our scrim performance went from being good to losing every single game. Then I told Josh (ballerrees) I didn’t want to play with him anymore.
正直、ちゃんと覚えてないんだけど、確かこのチームを結成したのは俺だよ。俺と、ballerreesと、LCT。一緒にトライアウトを受けた。ほぼチーム確定だ、ってなった状態で、LCTがWorldsへ行ったんだ。帰ってきたあと、調子良かったのに、なぜか勝てなくなった。それで、ballerreesに一緒にはやらないと伝えたんだ。

LCT: Hysterical laugh

Tynobad: Oh yeah, I remember that…
うん、覚えてるね……

Kevin: Well, I didn’t tell ballerrees that I didn’t wanna play with him anymore because he is a bad player or anything. One of the main reasons was that he entered university, so he didn’t have much time to play Rocket League anymore. But Sphinx had a lot of time to play.
ballerreesのプレイが下手とかそういう話ではなかった。
大きな理由として、彼が大学生になってロケットリーグに割ける時間が減っちゃったんだ。
でもSphinxにはその時間があった。

Sphinx: I was almost left without a team!!
もう少しでチームに入れないところだったよ！

Kevin: No, weren’t you gonna play with Misty?
え、Mistyと一緒にプレイしてなかった？

Sphinx: Mist and who?
Mistyと誰？

Kevin: Oh, wasn’t it supposed to be you, Misty and Poofy? But then poofy was gone.
あれ、MistyとPoofyと一緒にやってたと思ったけど。Poofyがいなくなっちゃったんだよね。

Sphinx: Oh my goodness.
あったわー……

Kevin: Well, see, you got pretty lucky, Aiman. Well, me and Trill have been together for about 2 years now and I told him to take a look at Sphinx’ replays. Trill was pretty sure that Sphinx was going to turn into a fantastic player and then, boom, we got Sphinx on the team. After the second scrim with Sphinx I knew I wanted him on, so we confirmed the team. After we confirmed the duo of me and Sphinx we were still deciding between Misty and LCT, but we wanted LCT. But Louis wanted to join Abscrazy and ballerrees in Chapati Dream.
まぁ運が良かったよなSphinxは。それで、俺とTrill（コーチ）は2年くらい一緒にやってるんだけど、彼にSphinxのリプレイを見てもらってさ。彼がSphinxはすぐにファンタスティックなプレイヤーになるって太鼓判を押したもんだから、ドン、Sphinx加入。となったわけ。Sphinxとの2回目のスクリムの後、俺も彼とチームを組みたくなったね。
俺とSphinxの二人が決まった後、3人目をMistyかLCTかで迷っていたんだけど、LCTを迎える判断をした。でもLCTはAbscrazsyとballerreesとChapatiDreamを組みたかったんだよな。

Sphinx: Louis, you seriously rather wanted to join Chapati Dream than me and Kevin?
LCT、ほんとに僕とKevinよりChapatiDreamと一緒にやりたかったの？

LCT: Yeah, because they were proven players and had already achieved good results in the past. That is the reason. I know I can trust them not to flop. I also had offers from a few really good EU players who wanted to move to APAC during the off-season.
うん、だって彼らはこれまでにいい成績を残している、強さが分かってるプレイヤーだったからね。落ち着いたチームプレイができることについては信頼できるよ。他にも、APACに移籍しようとしてたEUの良いプレイヤー達数名からもオファーをもらってた。

Kevin: They would’ve been your babysitters, bro.
そいつら、お前のお守りをする羽目になってただろうな。

LCT: Yeah, they would’ve carried me. But they said that they received other offers in the EU region. I cannot specify who these EU players were though.
そう、俺をキャリーしてただろうね。でも彼らは結局EU圏の別のオファーを受けたらしい。誰だったか、までは言えないけどね。

Sphinx: You almost didn’t join us!
一緒にプレイできないとこだったじゃん！

LCT: But yeah, once the EU players said they won’t come over I immediately joined Kevin and Sphinx. Another reason I joined these two was that Sphinx, Kevin and Misty always had really close games against me, ballerrees and Abscrazy. I don’t like close games between a Top 2 and Top 3 team. When I scrimmed with Kevin and Sphinx, we completely destroyed Abscrazy’s team, so I thought that teaming with Kevin and Sphinx was the safer option.
まぁ、EUプレイヤーが来られない、と伝えてきた時点でElevateに加入したんだ。
なんでこの二人を選んだかというと、Sphinx,Kevin,Mistyのチームが俺とballerreesとAbsのチームとめちゃくちゃ接戦を繰り広げててさ。Top2とTop3のチームが接戦なのは嫌だったんだよね。Kevin＆Sphinxと一緒にスクリムしてみたら、Abscrazyのチームをボコボコにできた。それでこの二人と組むのはいい選択肢だと考えたんだ。

Q18: During high-pressure situations in RLCS, how do you stay calm?─RLCSのプレッシャーの中、冷静でいるためには？

Kevin: I don’t.
落ち着いてないけど。

Everyone: 笑笑

Kevin: Once I start panicking it’s over! GG!
パニックになっちゃったらもうおしまい！GG！

Sphinx: I used to be very bad with pressure, but now I can just handle it better. I think it comes from me becoming more mature.
もともととてもプレッシャーに弱くて……でもうまくやれるようになってきたんだ。大人になってきたからかも。

LCT: I have said this before, but I try to wash my hands as much as possible.
さっきも言ったけど、手を出来る限り洗うことかな。

Kevin: I feel like once I am comfortable and friends with my teammates I don’t really feel too much pressure on me. I start laughing when we lose though, I don’t know why. 笑. For example if we lose an RLCS series I start laughing and saying: Ok guys, that was not great.
うまくチームメイトと仲良くリラックスして過ごせているときは、あまり緊張しなくなるんだよね。でも負けると笑っちゃう。なんでかわかんないけど。例えばRLCSの試合で負けたとき、笑いながら「いや～良くなかったね」って言っちゃう。

Sphinx: I normally perform better under pressure honestly.
基本的には緊張してる時のほうがいいプレイができてると思う。

LCT: I feel like we all perform better under pressure.
俺はみんな緊張してる時のほうがいいプレイしてると思ってるよ。

Kevin: I feel like I feel more comfortable playing with the adrenalin. It’s just kinda nice.
アドレナリン出てる時のほうが良い感じにプレイ出来てるはず。良い感じに。

Sphinx: Yeah, I have been brought up in many high pressure situations. That’s why I am used to it.
うん、何度も緊張する状況を打ち破ってきたしね。それが最近慣れてきた理由だと思う。

Q19: How did you guys win the first APAC Event of the 2024 season? ─なぜRLCS2024の最初のQualifierで優勝できたのか？

Kevin: To be honest, I think we had the better coach.
マジな話、いいコーチがついたからだと思う。

Sphinx: But we had the hardest bracket, bro.
ブラケットは一番きつかったけどね。

Kevin: Oh yeah, we definitely had the most difficult bracket. Even in the Double Elimination bracket we had the toughest opponents.
うん、確実に一番難しいブラケットだった。ダブルエリミネーションに入った時点で（下位シードの中で）一番強い相手（DETONATOR）に当たったしな。


Sphinx: We had the unluckiest seeding.
最悪のクジ運だったね。

Kevin: We were the first seed and our first game was harder than any other team! What the fuck. I think we won the playoffs because we had the best coach. I am not gonna lie, guys. Trill helps us a lot when we are under pressure. He kind of is a cheerleader and a coach at the same time.
俺たち第一シードだったのにどこよりも厳しい相手に当たったんだよ！どういうことだよ全く。
プレイオフで勝てたのは最高のコーチがいたから。嘘じゃないよ。Trillが緊張してた俺たちを凄く助けてくれたんだ。彼はコーチであると同時に応援団長の役割も果たしてくれた。


LCT: Yup.
ああ。

Kevin: During the tournament, Trill is always there in the VC with us and tells us why we are losing or why the games are too close and with his help we fix it and we absolutely cook! (absolutely cook = to do something really, really well)
That is why we only lost 1 single game going into the Grand Finals.
トーナメント中、Trillは常にVCにいて何で負けてるか〜とかなんで危なかったか〜とか教えてくれて、それで俺らは色々修正出来て、めちゃくちゃ上手くやれたんだ。
それがSwissで1ゲームしか落とさなかった理由だね。

Tyno: So what you are saying is that you were able to win because you have the best coach, right?
じゃあ、最高のコーチが勝利を可能にしてくれた、ってこと?

Kevin: Yup!! For sure!
そう、間違いない！

Sphinx: Wow, we quadrupled the amount of game losses in the Grand Finals.
わ、グランドファイナルで落としたゲーム数が4倍になっちゃってた。

Kevin: Also, another reason why we won is that we just perform well in tournaments. I feel like the way we communicate with each other during RLCS is what makes us the best team in the region.
それと、大会に良い姿勢で挑めたのも理由のひとつだ。
RLCS中のコミュニケーションが俺たちを地域最強のチームにしたと思うよ。

Sphinx: Let’s just hope my voice doesn’t crack.
僕の声が裏返っちゃわないように願ってて。（注：緊張と興奮が高まると声がすぐ裏返っちゃうらしい）

Kevin: Yeah, as long as Sphinx doesn’t have a voice crack we’re fine 笑笑
うん、Sphinxの声がひっくり返らない限りは、俺たちは行ける（笑）

LCT: As long as I get good sleep and I am not tired during RLCS we are fine.
ちゃんと睡眠をとって、RLCS中に疲れてしまわない限りは、俺たちは行ける。

Kevin: If Sphinx has a voice crack I just start laughing and it’s over for our concentration. Or if someone says something funny, like in the Grand Finals for example.
もしSphinxがひっくり返った声を出したら、俺が笑っちゃって集中力が途切れちゃう。もしくはだれかが面白いこと言っちゃうか。GrandFinalの時みたいにね。

LCT: Oh no, that was my fault.
あー、あれは俺が悪かったよ。

Kevin: After we scored in Game 7, Louis said: “Imma f**k ‘em!”, and I just started laughing!
Game7で点を決めた後、LCTが「あいつら〇〇してやる！」とか言い始めて笑っちゃったんだよね。

Everyone: 笑笑

Kevin: I wasn’t able to communicate for about 10 seconds because I was trying not to laugh!
いやもう10秒くらい笑いをこらえるのに必死でコミュニケーションできなかったんだよ。

Sphinx: That is so funny 笑笑
めっちゃおもろい（笑）

Kevin: I really didn’t wanna make any noise, so I could avoid making my teammates laugh as well, so I just stayed completely silent and didn’t even communicate.
うるさくしたくなくてさ、チームメイトを笑わせないようにしたくて、それでめっちゃ静かに喋りもせずに堪えてた。

Everyone: 笑笑

Kevin: I remember it vividly, I stopped trying to go for the ball and only went for the opponents’ corner boost pad so I could just drive all the way back to our own side without having to do anything else and calm down during that.
鮮明に覚えてるんだけど、もうボールに行くのもやめて相手の大ブースト奪って自陣に帰ったんだよね。その何もしない猶予の間になんとか抑えたんだよ。

Tynobad: Smart 笑
最善のプレイだ（笑）

Kevin: I managed not to laugh! I managed to focus up after that!
俺は笑わないよう努めた！その後集中するよう務めた！

Sphinx: Louis, you are so stupid, man!
LCT、君は実にバカだね。

Tynobad: Kevin rotating to the opponents’ back boost in order to contain his laughter was the difference maker in the end!
Kevinが笑いを堪えるためにあえてブースト奪ってローテートしたのが勝利のための最後の一押しになったわけだね。

Kevin: YUP! That was a pretty smart play by myself. We absolutely would’ve lost, had I started laughing.
ああ、最高にスマートなプレイだったね。堪えきれなかったら、負けてたよ。

Tynobad: A true 500IQ play!
マジで500IQプレイかも！

Sphinx: You are so, so stupid, Louis.
君は実に、実にバカだね。LCT。

LCT: 笑笑. That was funny as hell!

Kevin: I love how serious Louis said it as well. I thought to myself: “Oh, he’s gonna f**k ‘em for real!”
LCTがなんか真面目なテンションで言い始めるんだもん。「本気で〇〇しに行くのかな」って考えちゃったよ。

Q20: Sphinx, how does it feel to be the youngest player to ever win an RLCS event?─SphinxはRLCS優勝者の中で最年少記録を樹立したことについてどう思っている？

Tynobad: To round off the interview I have some more personal questions for you guys. Sphinx, you are the youngest player to ever win an RLCS tournament. How does it feel?
インタビューの終わりに、少し個人にフォーカスした質問を。
Sphinx、君は世界で最も若くRLCSで優勝したプレイヤーになった。それについてどう感じている？

LCT: Terrible.
ヤバい。

Sphinx: It would have felt better, but now that the age limit is 13 years, this record is not gonna last very long. Damnit. I literally just turned 15 a few days before I won the event (January 14th).
いい気分ではあるよ。でもRLCSの出場年齢制限が13歳になったから、この記録は残念ながらすぐ更新されるだろうね。僕は優勝するほんとにちょっと前に15歳になってたんだ。（誕生日は1月14日、Qualifier#1決勝は2月3日）

Kevin: Do you think you would’ve won a Regional Event before you turned 15?
15歳になる前でも（制限が無ければ）優勝できたと思うか？

LCT: Nah, no way, the old Elevate team was too strong. Wait, now that I think about it, I would’ve wanted Sphinx on my team. I remember messaging Sphinx like 4 years ago, asking him to be on my team as soon as he is old enough to participate in RLCS.
（横から）いーや、去年のElevateは強すぎて無理だろ。ん、ちょっとまてよ、でも俺Sphinxをチームに呼ぼうとしたことあるわ。4年くらい前にメッセージ送ったの思い出した。
RLCSに出られる年齢になったらすぐ俺のチームに入れ、って。

Kevin: But you had OSM and Maxeew on your team, so who would Sphinx be replacing?
いやでもOSMとMaxeewがチームにいただろ（2022-23 Gladiators）。誰と代えるんだよ？

LCT: Abscrazy.
Abscrazyと交代かな。

Kevin: No, I mean last season.
昨シーズンの話じゃねーの？

LCT: Oh, 2022? Well, I would’ve probably been kicked so Sphinx can join the team. Let’s be honest here.
え、2022シーズン？そしたら、Sphinxが入るために俺がキックされるよ。正直に考えてね。

Everybody: 笑笑

Sphinx: If they kept the age limit at 15, I think I would be the world's youngest RLCS Champion for a long, long time. I literally just turned 15, you know?
もし年齢制限が15歳のままだったら、多分僕がずーっと最年少RLCS優勝者記録だったんだろうなぁ。ほんとに15歳になったばっかりなんだよ？

Kevin: I don’t think there are any 13 or 14 year old players good enough to win a Regional.
俺は13歳とか14歳で優勝できるプレイヤーがそうそういるとは思えないけどな。

Sphinx: Not yet, but in the future.
今はそうだけど、そのうちね。

Q21: LCT, what are the biggest differences between your current and your former team?─LCTが今まで所属してきたチームとELEVATEの違いについて

Tynobad: The next question is really interesting in my opinion and it is for Louis: What is the biggest difference between your current and your former teams?
次の質問はLCTに対して、僕自身気になる質問だ。今までのチームとElevateの一番大きな違いは？

LCT: I think this current team is more cheerful than the past teams I’ve been on. The comms in this team are also way better. When it comes to in-game communication I used to be one of the best in all the teams I’ve been in so far, but now…
このElevateは所属した中で一番陽気なチームだよ。会話がとてもうまくいくね。ゲーム内コミュニケーションに関して、今までは俺がチームの中で一番上手いことが多かったんだけど…

Sphinx: … you are the worst on the team.
君は一番下だよ。

LCT: Yeah…
はい……

Everybody: 笑笑

LCT: I would have better comms if I wasn’t always tired, but somehow I always am.
疲れてなきゃいい声かけができるんだけど、なんか最近いつも疲れてるんだよね。

Kevin: When Louis tells me to leave the ball, he says: “Get out!”
LCTが俺にボールから離れて欲しい時、こう言うんだ。「どけよ！」

Everybody: 笑笑

Tynobad: Are there any differences between the work ethics of your former and your current team as well?
チームの活動方針とかは今までのチームと違いある？

LCT: Oh yeah, this current team is the team I have scrimmed the most with. Back then, we only had a single scrim every week.
ああ、このチームは一番スクリム回数が多いね。
今まで、毎週1回しかスクリムしてなかったんだよ。

Sphinx: What?!?! What were you doing?
は？？？何してたの？

Kevin: Oh my god. That is actually crazy.
なんてこった、これはマジでやばいね。

LCT: With ballerrees and Max we basically didn’t scrim at all. We did absolutely nothing. We only played ranked 2v2 and waited for gameday. That was 2021-22. Then 2022-23 we had a maximum of 2 scrims per week.
チームメイトがballerreesとMaxeewだった頃は本当にスクリムしなかった。マジでなんもしなかった。2vrankして試合当日を待つだけ。21-22シーズンはそんな感じ。22-23シーズンは週に最高でも2回スクリムしたかな。

Kevin: Now we are scrimming every single day. Twice! Oh my god!
今じゃ毎日2回もスクリムしてるぜ、なんてこった！

LCT: Yup, we are scrimming twice every day now.
そう、毎日2回やってる。

Kevin: I used to scrim 4 times a day, bro.
俺はもともと一日4回やってたぜ。

Sphinx: Yeah, Louis, did you know that Kevin used to scrim at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm and 11pm?
そうそう、LCT、Kevinがこれまで午後8時から1時間毎にスクリム4回やってたの知ってた？

LCT: Yeah, well, that is a bit too crazy for me.
ああ知ってる、俺にとってはちょっと狂ってるかな。

Kevin: The thing is, my team wasn’t the best in the region, so we literally scrimmed every single team. We literally scrimmed teams that barely qualified for the Regional Events.
地域で一番のチームじゃなかった訳だし、文字通り全てのチームとスクリムしたよ。
Regional予選をかろうじて突破した、っていうチームたちともスクリムした。

Q22: Kevin, you've been working with trill for a long time, how would you describe him as a coach?─Kevinから観たTrillのコーチとしての実力は？

Tynobad: Kevin, you've been working with trill for a long time, how would you describe him as a coach?
長い間、KevinはTrillと活動してるよね。コーチとしての彼について教えてくれる？

Kevin: Hmmmm. One word: Smart. Yeah, smart. Honestly, he has the most knowledge of Rocket League I’ve ever seen. I used to watch this coach called “Virge” analyze people and after that I came to trill. Trill doesn’t make things complicated. He knows how to make things sound simple. If you watch other people, like Virge, analyze gameplay, it looks so complicated, but trill makes things easy to understand. When I first started teaming with trill he asked me what I think about his coaching and I said: “Honestly, I’m too dumb to understand the things you say sometimes.”
So I told him to just make things more simple. Ever since that it has been great. He is also an actual friend of mine and fun to be around.
うーん、一言で言うと、賢い。本当に賢い。正直言って、今まで見た中で彼が一番ロケットリーグについて知識豊富だよ。以前はVirgeというコーチがプレイヤー分析するのをよく見ていて、それからTrillと一緒に活動しはじめたんだ。Trillは物事を複雑化しない。どうやったら物事が単純明快になるか、よくわかっている。Virgeとか他のコーチはゲームプレイを分析させたら凄く複雑なことを言う。でもTrillはわかりやすく簡単にしてくれるんだ。
組んで最初のころ、彼にコーチングの内容について聞かれたから、「俺頭が悪いから何言ってるかわかんない時があるよ」って言ったことがある。まぁ、もっと単純に言ってよって伝えたんだ。それ以来、非常にうまくやっていけてる。ゲーム外でも友人だし、一緒にいて楽しいよ。

trill: *Joins the VC on his phone*

T: Oh my god, trill, perfect timing! The next question is for you!
すごい、Trill完璧なタイミングじゃん！次の質問は君宛だよ！

Q23: Trill, what is the best thing about coaching this team? What are the difficulties?─TrillがELEVATEのコーチをしていて一番良かったことと難しかったことは？

trill: Wait, are we doing the interview now?
待った待った、これ今インタビュー中？

Tynobad: Yeah, we are in the middle of the interview.
うん、インタビューの真っ最中だよ。

Everybody: 笑笑

trill: Oh…
うわ……

Tynobad: This is the last question actually, and it is for you: Trill, what is the best thing about coaching this team and what are the difficulties?
これは最後の質問で、Trillに対して。Eleveteをコーチしていて一番良かったことと、難しかったことは？

trill: Hohohohooo!
（笑）

Kevin: You don’t have to say the difficulties!
難しかったことは言わなくてもいいよ！

trill: The pros and cons of this team are the exact same thing.
このチームの良いところと悪いところは実は一緒なんだよね。

Tynobad: Wanna elaborate?
というと、どういうこと？

trill: Yeah, the personalities of the players make the players very fun to be around and they make it fun when to watch them play, but their personalities also sometimes make it hard 笑
うん、チームメンバーたちがみんな個性的で面白いし、彼らのプレイを見ているのも面白いんだけど、たまにその個性が悪い方向に働くときもあるんだよね笑

LCT: Whoops.
おーっと。

trill: Yeah, I think that is my answer. They are little gremlins.
